The Festival~
Let's just say it: This entry's going to be as unrelated to VK as I can possibly manage.  XD  So, with that said, I went to the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival yesterday.  :]  If you actually care about it, under the cut!  Otherwise.... hi.  XD

A completely unnecessary picture of me (my hand, whatever) in the car.  Look at how dry the grass is, haha.

Yeup, so anyways, it's sort of a tradition in my family.  Every year, we'd head on out to the Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay, so this year was no different.  To get there, we have to drive over this little mountain (we're in the valley, the festival is by the ocean), but the road there is usually clogged with traffic, so we tried taking a different route this year, going along the coast instead.  It was longer, but at least the traffic was moving.

There's the cliff we were driving on (igonore the dirty windshield...ewww..)  To the right's the ocean, but it was misty down there yesterday, so it looks like we're driving above the clouds~  Maybe it's just me, but I thought that was pretty cool.  OwO  Anyways, that's all I really wanted to mention about the trip there (since it was so cool to me XD).  Now, the festival~

As you can see, it's not JUST the Pumpkin Festival, it's the Pumpkin and ART Festival, which is probably why it continues to captivate me year after year.  The art there isn't the strange counter-culture art that I'd shown an interest in lately, but it was still fun to look at what everyone does...and what we could buy =w=...    First thing we did (as we do every year) was get pumpkin ice cream...since it's good.  XD  I'd post a picture, but I forgot to take a picture before I ate it *headdesk*.  I sound like a glutton, hahaha....  but what's a festival without food, right?  XD  So, really, there isn't much to say other than that we walked down the booths, browsing at what the artists had, enjoying the Halloween spirit, and stuff like this:

Nice hat, huh?  It's so tall~  So far it doesn't seem like there was much pumpkin-related stuff...but that's just because I don't pay too much attention to that.  XD  There is a guy that carves intricate faces on huge pumpkins for everyone to see.  Here's a picture:

The artist is the guy in the straw hat...which I just noticed you can't really see in this picture... Well, whatever...I want to carve a pumpkin like that.... if only I knew where to start, haha.  Anyways, we kept going along andlooking at stuff, stopping to eat more festival food, like pumpkin pie and some sort of seasoned artichoke hearts.  Half Moon Bay is an agricultural area, so they sold a lot of vegetable...related foods.... XD  So we did end up buying some jewelry, both my sister and I a pendant each.

That's the one I got.  Hurray for feminine jewelry, for once (because of VK and a certain uncle of mine, I'd kind of been in preference of men's jewelry--I mean look at the jewelry Uruha wears; it's so pretty~)

So, on the way back (after we'd looked at all the booths), we stopped by a pet feed store that happened to be conveniently located within the festival area to buy some food for our two bunnies at home.  :3  So, like I said, this area is mostly farmland, so the store's really different from the ones around where I live.

They sold chickens! >w< *coughcough*remindedmeofreita*coughcough*

And, though this one wasn't for sale, they had some of those fancy roosters.  I like the feathers on this one's head, haha.

AND THEN IT WAS OVER!! XD  Hahaha, this was a pretty bad description of what happened there yesterday, but that's ok!  That's how I write.  :P

Now time to try and will myself into doing some work....

Wow, this sounded fun! :D People in my country don't care about Halloween at all, apart from some friends of mine who came last year -on Oct 31st- to school wearing black stuff and skulls etc (I dress like that almost everyday, so it didn't make any difference for me XD). We even kept playing Marilyn Manson's "This is Halloween" during the breaks and people kept looking at us like we had just escaped from some asylum. XD

Anyways, that pupmkin art is so cool!
I want to carve Aoi's face in one of them. 8D

But...

Oh no, CHICKEN! O__O *starts rolling on the floor*

I really don't know why, butI always start giggling when I see chicken, hen or roosters, they look funny. XD ... And remind me of Reita, too. *slapped*

PS: The second pic is breathtaking! *o*

LOL, that sounds fun. You can try doing something even crazier this year, especially since it's going to be on a Saturday. You can have a HUGE celebration and shock all your neighbors. XD People really don't celebrate Halloween that much there? :O

Hahah, Aoi in a pumpkin? That'd be so awesome....until it starts to rot. XD There's got to be a way to preserve it forever!!!

CHICKKKKKKEN!!! >w< I always wanted a pet chicken, but I don't think they'd survive in my backyard. XD Hahah, Reita really does look like a little bird, huh? Chicken, parakeet, chickadee... >w< So cute for such a "manly" member~

Lol, my poor neighbours. XD
No, we don't celebrate Halloween here, but we have a similar day in February, where we dress up and such. 8D

Yeah, there's got to be a way!... Umm, a fridge or something? XD

Well, the first thing I thought when I saw Reita was "PARROT!!!!" XDD
And he actually did have parakeets as pets, I've seen pics. :D
Here -> Ruki's room + reita's bird in 2004/2005 XD

Reita's cuter than he lets us think. >8D

LOL, I'm not trying to ruin, or at least, change your relationship with your neighbors like you did to me with mine *cough*halfnakedaoiontheirwall*cough XD

Yeaa, I'd seen that somewhere before. The idea that Reita has some sort of pet is just too adorable~ >w< ~<3 Ahh... makes me want to DO something! >:D I think I suddenly like boring Reita even more XD

That place looks dry and here it snowed today (There's even a cute snowman at the main entrance of the building) :3 . Crazy contrast...

And that festival sounded like fun. You really made me want to go there too :P Specially to see the handcrafts and eat ice cream. I've never tried the pumkin one, and it'd be great to do it! :3 *drooling*

The pendant is nice too. Looks like real handmade :)

And I also thought the same when I saw those lil chickens... It looks like they're wearing one of Reita's costumes! :D Also now I cannot forget the thought that actually Reita looks like a chicken too: wants to look like very manly and punkish, but he can't help being just shy and messy ;3

Ah really? It snowed already? That's awesome! (Since I live where there's never snow XD) It's always dry-looking here....except for maybe in the spring when there's a little green on the hills.

Yeaa, pumpkin ice cream's great. If I were to describe it... I'd say it tastes like pumpkin pie except cold, a bit sweeter, and a lot creamier >w< You have to try it sometime. Maybe you can find it somewhere in Finland? (It's not THAT...exotic is it?)

Hahaha, now that you mention it, they do look like they're wearing something Reita wore. Aww, they're so much cuter now (and Reita, too...no matter how boring unchanging his looks may be)! >////< The man at the store said that these chicks hatched from blue eggs. I'd never seen a blue chicken egg before. :O

Would be great to find that ice-cream! :3 I don't know if it's very exotic, at least I've never heard of it before. Although in Finland they also use to do pumkin cakes during the Halloween season, I have never seen ice-cream. And in Spain we have some soups that include pumkin, but also I've never seen anything else out from pumkin there :)

Ui, me either. I only saw the current salmon/white ones and the grey little ones from the quails :) Maybe he was kidding? :P
